There is much more to the Sailing and Windsurfing Club at York than just water sports, as we also have a big social side! A very important aspect of our club, Wednesday is our regular Sports Social Night, when we go to Salvation (and often few bars before hand) with all the other York sports clubs and make merry. Everyone in the club is welcome, new or old alike, so feel free to join us! Look out for our weekly email on this weeks theme, where we will likely meet in D Bar beforehand. There is also usually a casual trip after sailing/windsurfing sessions to the Charles pub in Heslington as well, a lovely way to relax and unwind after a day on the water.

As well as these regulars, we have big events in all terms! This including the Christmas meal at the end of the Autumn term, attended by current members of the club and visiting alumni; definitely an event not to be missed!379680_10151347774833649_75331700_n

In the Summer Term we have a big fund-raising event, The Beaver Bash, where Alumni teams race against our current teams for the coveted James Way Cup. This is a big weekend with 2 days of sailing and windsurfing, a beautiful couple of days out in the sunshine (fingers crossed!) and a lot of socialising with some lovely past and current members!! There are also at least a couple of big social events each term, keep an eye out for these in the newsletter!
