A busy week at YUSWC to end the Spring term with the introduction of a brand new committee and a great weekend at the Big Lash. Our sailing first team put in a fantastic performance, beating some really tough teams in close but exciting racing! So congratulations to all the team for doing so well!
Elections and the AGM were held last Wednesday, and included some slight changes to the club in general, including a change to membership fees which will come into effect at the start of the next academic year. The roles of Vice Commodore and Beginners Officers were also amended slightly to better reflect the balance between sailing and windsurfing.
The new committee for 2012-13 is as follows:

The new committee will be starting off this coming term, and it will be an exciting one! Look out for loads of beginners sailing and windsurfing days (especially with the hotly anticipated new windsurfing kit that is winging its way to us!), Roses 2012, the Beaver Bash (our annual alumni event which will be raising money for new firefly sails), the Beaver Marathon (a 10 hour endurance sailing event hosted by Beaver Sailing Club, with camping and bbq), and the York Sport dinner at the very end of term. So keep an eye out for emails updating you on these events next term.
There is nothing more for me to say but good luck to the new committee and the rest of the club, hopefully see you on the water next term, if my dissertation doesn’t kill me first!
